“ Excellent!! The closest thing to a Madid neighborhood / "de toda la vida" bar that I've found in NYC. I ducked in recently (alone) for an early/small dinner (lomo/pork sandwich, an Alhambra beer, and a Torta de Santiago / almond cake), a few minutes too late for their happy hour menu, and thus, their calamari sandwich (next time). Quality food at a reasonable price, nice décor/cozy atmosphere, great service (I was immediately waited on by one of the owners and then by a couple of the waitstaff), and very clean (restroom included). Perfect place to bring a date or for a small group lunch/dinner (cool back/group room). Bonus points for the small shelf that runs along the wall across from the bar (where I moved to after having started eating at one of the high tables / once the table reservation had been filled), a small detail, but it made me feel like I was back in Madrid. Hats off and a big thank you to the owners, Mani and Heather, for bringing a little bit of Spain, which they clearly know very well, to NYC. ”
“ Great tapa spot! Everything tasted great but highly recommend the gambas & croquettes. Service was pretty solid - great for a quick bite with friends or a first date. ”
“ Food/Drink: very yum! I especially liked the quiche, squid ink rice, and shrimp garlic dip! Wouldn't get the deliver eggs again but it was yum! Lots of their dishes (maybe 70%?) were sold out by dinner time :/ Service: pretty good service Atmosphere: very cute and perfect for summer if you sit close to the entrance! Other: Easy to walk in on a Sunday night for 2 ”
“ My friend and I passed by this place on a Thursday night and were lucky enough to be sat at the bar immediately upon check-in. My friend ordered and IPA and I resorted to a dry, white sparkling wine. Breakdown of our food (first two are specials, last one is a menu regular) -Cigalas y Almejas (langoustines in white wine) this. sauce. was. 50000 good. The bartender brought out a bucket of bread slices for me to soak it all up, think of your typical white wine butter sauce at the end of a dish, but with a lot of seafood umami-ness. -Falda de Res (skirt steak with salsa verde) Meat was very tender, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the leeks on top. Salsa Verde definitely helped bring some brightness to the dish. -Lamb Skewers with moored spices Super tender & juicy, selfishly wish there were more skewers Had a great time overall, this place is cozy and welcoming and I can't wait to come back! ”
“ A 3.5 for the ambiance and service. Now the food is an entire different thing, I had a beef liver that left so much to be desired. We ordered everything on the appetizer menu and the only thing I liked was the bread :( The servers were so kind and found us seating although the place was packed, they were very attentive so thank you for that! The inside of this place is very small and you're rubbing shoulders with everyone but it's so cozy you don't even care ”
“ The OG tapas bar in NYC! I came here ages ago and I wasn't even an active Yelper then. I finally got to revisit on our last NYC trip. Some friends and I decided to meet here for happy hour. Yes, they still do happy hour and the food and drink options are still excellent. In fact, we had such a good time that I forgot to take more photos of the food. If you come here, just order everything! The wine menu is excellent and they even have a solid offering of sherry. May they remain in business for many more years! ”
